1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy statement is intended to let the Users of the site be informed about the way ArchnTech collects and uses personal information. ArchnTech respects the privacy of all its users including ‘Members’ and ‘Visitors’ and makes every reasonable effort to keep all personal information provided to ArchnTech confidential. The dealing out of all personal information shall be done in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations of Bangladesh. By visiting the ArchnTech website located at www.ArchnTech.com, you are accepting the terms delineated in this Privacy Policy.

ArchnTech has strong commitment to maintaining the trust of its users and hence always sticks to some principles to protect their privacy:

  • We keep personal information of users classified. Information is provided to third parties only: (1) with consent from the user; (2) when necessary to provide certain functionality of the site to you; (3) when required by law, or any legal process; and (4) as and when necessary to enforce the Terms of Use of the site.
  • We implement appropriate and industry standard safety measures designed to protect your information.

Please do not register or provide any personal information to us if you are under the age of 18. If we come to know that we have collected information from anyone under the age of 18, we will remove that information as soon as possible. If you believe that we might have collected data from a person under the age of 18, please let us know.

Unless stated otherwise, this Privacy Policy applies to all data we have about you and your account. We may alter this Policy from time to time, and if we do, we will notify through the site or by any other means so that you can review the changes before continuing to use our Services. If you do not agree with any updates and changes in the Privacy Policy, you can remove all/part of your information and/or close your account at any time. Continuing to use the Site and its Services after notification about any changes to this Privacy Policy would imply your consent to those changes.

2. What information ArchnTech collects

Information provided by the User:

Personal Information: When you open an account with ArchnTech as a professional, you provide your name, email, and a password. Some additional information may be required for security purpose or to provide certain services. Once you register you can provide other information about yourself e.g. education, work experience, contact number etc. You can also add a picture of yourself. You can also provide other personal and professional information, projects, materials, products, and people.

ArchnTech intends to make it easy for you to find and connect with others. In this context, your personal info like name, location and profile picture are publicly displayed. If you do not want to show profile picture, you should not add one or remove it by using appropriate options. This also applies for companies for which you have registered.

Your contact information can also be controlled by different Privacy Settings of the Site. You should choose your suitable level of privacy using the available options.

Company/Organization Information: When you sign up for ArchnTech, you can register your company’s name, its website, and address. There is the possibility to provide more information about your company for example telephone and fax. You can also make yourself an administrator for your company.

Content: People use ArchnTech mainly to share their experience and creations. This could include a project, material or product. You can add experience and creations as a company or as a professional. When sharing about yourself or your company, you can provide photographs, video, text descriptions and other formats. Once shared, these contents can be commented on by other users and re-shared and/or connected to other contents.

Background/associated Information while using ArchnTech:

Site usage: We record some of the actions you take on ArchnTech, such as connecting to a project, or commenting on a product etc. You are also taking an action when you upload some content to the Site. For instance, if you share a photo, in addition to storing it in our server, we might actually log the fact that you shared it.

Device, IP and other Info: When you access the ArchnTech site from a computer, mobile phone, or other device, we may collect data from your device. We usually receive the internet protocol (“IP”) address of your computer or the proxy server that you use to access the web, operating system details of your computer, type of web browser you are using for accessing the Site, information of your mobile operating system (if you are accessing the Site using a mobile device), and the name of your ISP or your mobile carrier.

Cookie Information: We use "cookies" and similar technologies, including mobile application identifiers, to help us recognize you across different Services. Cookies are small pieces of data that is stored on your computer, mobile phone, or other device that you use to access the Site. This is basically intended to make ArchnTech easier to use, improve user experience, increase security, measure use and effectiveness of our Services, and to make our advertising better. Other users: Information might also be collected about you from other ArchnTech users. For example, when a user connects you to a project, product, or material we may record the details of that action.

3. How information is used

ArchnTech uses the information collected through the various means detailed above to provide a effective, secure, and personalized experience of the Site to the user. Following are some of the details:

Provide high quality service: Information collected from users help provide our services and features to you and to assess and improve the services and features. We also use the information to avert potentially unlawful activities. We also use an array of technological means to identify and deal with suspicious activity and content to prevent misuse. These may result in a temporary or permanent termination of some services or features for some users.

Correspondence: We may occasionally email you with service-related announcements.

Personalized advertising: We don’t share your personal information without your consent with any third party including advertisers. We allow advertisers to use anonymous user information of the Site to choose the kind of users they want their ads to display to in order to select the appropriate audience for those advertisements. For example, we might use your interest in ceramic brick to show you ads for related materials, but we wouldn’t disclose to the advertisers of those material companies who you are.

ArchnTech is about sharing information with friends, associates, companies and people in your communities. Everything you share on ArchnTech will be accessible for users to view, make comments and further sharing. We share your information with third parties only on certain occasions- when the sharing is allowed by you, reasonably necessary to offer our services and features, or when legally required to do so. For example:

Invite someone to join: When you send invitation to an acquaintance to join ArchnTech, we will send a message on your behalf using your personal info. The invitation may also contain information about other users your connection might know.

Share information with marketers: You may choose to share information with marketers or e-commerce providers that are not linked with ArchnTech through on-site offers. This is entirely at your discretion and we will not provide your information to these marketers without your consent.

To let friends find you: We make certain information from your profile available in search results on the Site to help your connections find you. However, you can control the availability of these info as well as your visibility in searches i.e. who can find you, through the settings tab. We also team up with email and instant messaging service providers to help their users find which of their contacts are ArchnTech users, so that we can promote ArchnTech to those users.

Improve and promote Services: Sometimes ArchnTech shares collective information with third parties to help improve or promote our service. But we do so in a way that no individual user can be identified and/or linked to any specific information.

Provide essential functions: We may provide user information to other service providers that help us bring you the features and functionalities of the Site. For instance, we may use third party services to- host our website, send out email updates, process payments, or provide search results or links. These service providers may have access to your personal information for limited use. All such use occurs under reasonable contractual and technical protections to ensure that use of that information is limited to the extent as deemed essential for providing those services.

Advertise our services: We may request advertisers outside of ArchnTech to display ads promoting our services. We may use ArchnTech’s content in this regard including persons, companies, products and materials etc. to promote the site.

This may include adhering to requests from jurisdictions outside of Bangladesh where we have a good faith belief that the response is required by law under the local laws in that jurisdiction, apply to users from that jurisdiction, and are consistent with generally accepted international standards. We may also share information when we have a good faith belief it is necessary to avoid any illegal activity, to prevent impending physical harm or loss, or to protect ourselves and you from people violating the Terms of Use. This may include disclosing information to other companies, lawyers, courts or other government entities.

Sale or Transfer of Control: If the ownership of all or part of our business transfers through or sale or other means, your information we may be transferred to the new owner or operator in order to make sure the service can continue to operate. In such a case, your information would remain subject to the terms spelled out in any existing Privacy Policy.

4. How Information is protected

Information security measures: We have arranged safeguards designed to protect the users’ personal information in accordance with industry standards. Sensitive information (such as passwords, credit card information etc.) are encrypted by using secure socket layer (SSL) technology when it is exchanged between the web browser and our Site. We also offer secure https access to our website. To protect data you store on our servers, we constantly monitor our system for potential vulnerabilities and threats.

We also utilize automated and other measures to enhance information safety, such as examining suspicious actions and behavior on the Site for fraudulent or otherwise unlawful actions. We may limit associated account’s use of certain features in response to possible signs of abuse, may delete inappropriate or illegal content or links to these contents, and may suspend or disable accounts for violations of our Terms of Use.

Risks: Although we employ updated measures for safeguarding your information, please remember that the Internet is not 100% secure. We cannot ensure absolute security of any information you transmit and store in our Services. There is no guarantee that unauthorized entities may not access, disclose, or destroy data in our servers through breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. We are not responsible for third party circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures on ArchnTech. However, you can reduce these risks by using common sense safety measures such as using a strong password, keeping your password secret, using different passwords for different services, and using up to date antivirus software. Please note that emails, instant messaging, and similar means of communication with other Members within the Site are not encrypted and you are strongly advised not to communicate any confidential information through these means.

5. Your right to change or remove information

Profile Edit: You may change or remove your personal or company profile information at any time by going to your ‘profile’ page and clicking ‘Edit’. Information will be updated immediately after ‘submitting’.

Profile removal: If you want to stop using the Services entirely, you may delete your account. When you delete an account, it is permanently removed from ArchnTech database. You should only delete your account if you are certain that you would never want to reactivate it in the future. You may delete your account on the ‘settings’ tab.

Retention of information: Even after you remove any information from your profile or delete your account altogether, copies of that information may still be viewable elsewhere in the Site to the extent that it had been shared with other users, distributed according to your ‘privacy settings’, or had been copied or stored by other users. However, your account name or any other info shall no longer be associated with that information on ArchnTech. We may retain certain information of an account to prevent identity theft and other misuse even when we receive a removal request. If you have given third party applications or websites access to your information, they may retain your information to the extent permitted under their terms of service or privacy policies. But none of them will be able to access that information through ArchnTech after you disconnect from them.

Backup copies: Removed and deleted information may persist in backup copies for up to 90 days, but will not be accessible in any ways to others.
