The Baird house was born after the new property owner purchased the corner lot looking forward to build a larger modern and more efficient residence for his family, instead of the 1959 existing American traditional home. The residence is designed to have an open floor plan with high ceilings to flood the open living space with natural light. The open floor plan is achieved through locating the fire-place in the the center of the public area, which spans the entire length of the structure, from the street front side to the rear yard . The fire-place also acts as the buffer between the living area, family area, kitchen and the dining room. After entering, to the left is a hallway leading to the private area of the house with three bedrooms.
